Sonnet for the Immortality of Mankind

The darkness wouldst so silently roll upon us in a screaming mist
As the sun falls behind the mountains,
Forming a silhouette of jagged death,
And thence a darkness of utter disdain.

The night all wouldst fall tremulously silent…
Vengeance shalt so maliciously be taken!

We find ourselves lost;
Lost because we have started this…
Lost because we’ve started this rift,
And it shalt never disappear.
This pathetic, petty, and horrid thing.
