A Beginning's End
Tender fields have withered,
And fragile flowers have faded,
The beautiful sky has bittered,
And loving stars are unmated…
A sweetly breath that tickles the neck,
A teasing kiss upon the brow,
Beguiling words of love…
They've all left me now.
Unfair it seems, though quite just they deem,
That I've been stolen away,
Torn from my all,
Taken from my dream.
I beseech to the empty sky,
Plea for another chance,
Beg for them upon me to bestow,
With life just one more dance…
From here I cannot escape,
It seems futile, the attempt to flee,
For this is paradise is it not?
At least, that's what they all tell me…
No more encumbrance, only life's remembrance,
I feel dry here, about the eternal Eden,
They took me without my word,
But I left my heart with my life's lovely trance.
So down I'll wander,
Looking for a darkling place to ponder,
Wondering and waiting,
For the darkest of evil I am praying.
Perhaps amidst the torrid flame
I'll find what I seek,
And end this afterlife's bane-
There he was, standing tall and proud,
Wings folded and tail forked,
Amidst his darkly cloud…
And to me he offered one chance,
But a moment of life left,
To perhaps live again a past romance.
I looked to she who I sought,
And started to nod without further thought,
Though when I saw her closely again,
She shook her head and placed a finger to my lips,
Telling me to wait for her-that we'd meet again,
That our beginning would come to be
Upon her beginning's end…
